We are a direct business lender. We assess applications, make credit decisions, and fund approved loans ourselves. We do not act as a broker — there are no referral fees or commissions added to your cost.

2. Who we lend to

We lend exclusively to businesses — including companies, trusts, partnerships, and sole traders — for genuine commercial purposes. We do not provide credit to individuals for personal, domestic, or household use.

To be eligible, your business must:

• Hold a valid Australian Business Number (ABN)
• Have been trading for at least 6 months
• Generate a minimum of $10,000 per month in revenue
• Be based and operating in Australia

3. Our products

We offer business term loans, equipment finance, invoice finance, and lines of credit from $10,000 to $500,000. Full product details are on our Products page.

4. Fees and costs

All fees are disclosed to you in full before you commit to any loan. There are no hidden charges. Fees may include:

• Interest — calculated on the outstanding balance at the rate in your loan contract
• Establishment fee — a one-off fee at settlement, typically 1%–3% of the loan amount
• Monthly account keeping fee — where applicable
• Early repayment fee — where applicable, as specified in your contract
• Default fees — if a scheduled repayment is missed

We do not charge application fees or broker fees.

5. How we assess applications

We assess every application individually based on your business's financial position, revenue, trading history, and credit profile. Bank statement data (provided via Illion's secure portal) forms the primary basis of our assessment.

We do not approve loans we believe a business cannot service. If we can't help you, we'll tell you promptly.

6. Credit checks

By submitting an application, you authorise Ex Nihilo Finance to obtain a commercial credit report on your business. Where a personal guarantee is required, a personal credit check on the guaranteeing director(s) may also be conducted. This is disclosed before it occurs.

7. Security and guarantees

Many of our loans are unsecured. For larger amounts or longer terms, a personal guarantee from company directors may be required. Equipment finance is secured against the financed asset. All security requirements are clearly stated before you sign any contract.

8. Repayment difficulty

If your business is experiencing financial difficulty and you are struggling to meet repayments, contact us as early as possible. We will work with you to find a practical solution.

We will acknowledge your complaint within 1 business day and aim to resolve it within 30 days.
